Dino Valenti

Dino Valenti, born in 1937 as Dino Valente, was an American singer-songwriter and a prominent figure in the 1960s San Francisco music scene. He is best known for his work in the genres of folk rock and psychedelic rock. Valenti was a founding member of the band Quicksilver Messenger Service, which played a significant role in the counterculture movement. One of his most notable contributions is the song "Get Together," which he originally wrote and recorded with his group The Kingston Trio in 1964. The song later gained immense popularity in the late 1960s when it was covered by the Youngbloods, becoming an anthem for peace and unity during the Vietnam War era. Valenti's influence extends beyond his songwriting; his music encapsulated the spirit of the 1960s counterculture, promoting messages of love and communal harmony.
